Stories of Hope and Dignity
Behind every project and every donation is a real person whose life has changed. These are a few of the senior citizens whose stories of resilience, restored health, and renewed dignity remind us why this mission matters.

Finding Hope and Dignity in the Golden Years
Mr. Abdur Rahman, 72 · Health & Nutrition Program Beneficiary
“Old age should never be a sentence of isolation. A little compassion, proper care, and a supportive community can completely transform a senior's life.”
At 72, Mr. Abdur Rahman found himself battling not only age-related illnesses but also severe loneliness. Unable to afford his regular medical expenses and struggling to secure nutritious meals, his days were filled with despair. Like many abandoned seniors, he had almost given up hope for a dignified life.
Everything changed when the Aged Care Foundation stepped in. Our dedicated medical team provided him with comprehensive health checkups and free medication, while our monthly food program ensured he never went to bed hungry. Today, Mr. Rahman is not just physically healthy; he has found a loving community and a renewed reason to smile every day.

Seeing the World Clearly Again
Mrs. Rahima Khatun, 68 · Free Medical Camp Beneficiary
“I never thought I'd see clearly or walk without pain again. Now I even help my neighbors carry their groceries.”
For years, Mrs. Rahima Khatun lived with worsening cataracts and untreated joint pain, unable to afford even a basic eye checkup on her small pension. She rarely left her home, fearful of falling or losing her way in the crowded lanes of her neighborhood.
A free medical camp organized by Aged Care Foundation changed everything. Our volunteer doctors diagnosed her condition, arranged corrective treatment, and provided ongoing medicine for her joints. Today, Rahima moves freely, reads her prayers without strain, and has become an active, cheerful presence in her community again.

A Safe Roof and Renewed Dignity
Mr. Nurul Islam, 75 · Shelter & Protection Beneficiary
“For the first time in years, I sleep without fear of the rain or the cold.”
Abandoned by his family and with nowhere to turn, Mr. Nurul Islam spent months sleeping in a relative's open veranda, exposed to Dhaka's harsh monsoons and winters. Without an income or identification documents, he had no way to access government support on his own.
Aged Care Foundation's Shelter & Protection program provided him with safe housing, warm bedding, and legal assistance to recover his national ID. With his dignity restored, Mr. Islam now lives securely and takes part in our community meal programs and social gatherings.

From Dependence to Self-Reliance
Mrs. Jahanara Begum, 65 · Economic Empowerment Beneficiary
“Now I don't just survive — I contribute. My handicrafts feed my family and my pride.”
After losing her husband, Mrs. Jahanara Begum had no income of her own and depended entirely on relatives who could barely support themselves. The uncertainty of daily survival weighed heavily on her health and spirit.
Through our Economic Empowerment program, she received a small start-up grant and hands-on training in tailoring and handicrafts. Within months, she had built a modest home-based business, and today she trains two other elderly women in her neighborhood, passing the opportunity forward.
